One Passage and One Single Handing across the Atlantic
Dufour Mag - Jan 2003
(1) Dufour 36 "Fleur de Sel"
Christian Le Cleach, the 41 year old company executive and owner of the Dufour 36 Classic "Fleur de Sel" is about to achieve his childhood dream; a single-handed Trans Atlantic crossing.
Christian entered the "Transquadrasoto" which started in Nantes and ends in Martinique, has had an extremely good first leg to Maderia. He was pleasantly surprised by the good speed of his 36 under all conditions, even in light winds.
He arrived in Maderia in 3rd place and is expected to complete the race in Martinique in January 2003.
(2) Dufour 36 "Corumii"
With Luiz Alberto Ballarin from Sao Paulo at the helm, "Corumii" left La Rochelle on February 28th, 2001 and arrived in Lisbon a week later. The next leg was to Maderia, then Salvador and arriving in the Brazilian paradise of the Bay of the Angra des Reis on April 30th.
The Dufour 36 handled perfectly throughout the 5,600 mile voyage and Corumii is already planning another trip, this time to Trinidad.
