The
Dufour
40
has
a
head
of
steam,
both
on
the
market
and
on
the
water.
The
boat
was
just
recently
released,
but
by
the
end
of
August,
89
will
have
been
built.
It's
popularity
is
undoubtedly
due
in
part
to
its
good
looks,
comfort
and
speed
potential.
The
performance
cruiser
is
the
first
in a
line
of
high-performance
boats
by
Dufour
with
a
light
but
rigid
hull,
compliments
of a
vacuum
bagged
PVC,
fiberglass
and
Kevlar
sandwich
and
vacuum-injected
deck
that
Dufour
says
accounts
for
a
30-percent
weight
savings.
Three
interior
layouts
are
available:
a
two-cabin/one
head
version
and
two
three-cabin
versions,
one
with
two
heads.
The
deck
is
clean,
as
is
the
overall
look
of
the
boat.
A
tall-rig
version
is
also
available
for
sailors
who
plan
to
do
more
racing,
which
should
be
well
within
the
realm
of
possibility
for
the
boat.
Cruising
and
electronic
packages
are
included
with
the
boat
and
include
an
electric
windlass,
stereo
and
a
comprehensive
electronic
package.(1)
They
will
even
throw
in a
Dufour
dish
set
for
eight
people,
perfect
for
a
gourmet
meal
at a
quiet
anchorage
or
for
storing
in
the
dock
box
when
heading
out
to
rout
the
competition
on
the
race
course.
