Our philosophy is based on the notion that effective websites must be first and foremost user friendly. Given a website is primarily a means of communication, that means we build sites that communicate... They are easy to navigate, easy to read and accurately present the message and image intended by the client. Usability is the key.
Perhaps we're a bit conservative in that we believe usability is generally best accomplished without the clutter and distraction of flashing pictures and moving text. (I am not suggesting that flash functionality, animated graphics, scrolling text and so on have no place on a website. When they enhance the value of information presented, they are very useful. Otherwise, they can be simply annoying.) We concentrate on pleasing graphics, clear navigation and presenting information in a manner that's easy on the visitor's eyes.
Sandra Kennedy, BA, MBA, has been working in the website development area since 1995, beginning with a large marketing database and website interface for an international pay-television group in The Netherlands. After returning to Toronto and a short stint as the internet content manager for Deloitte & Touche, Kennedy Websites emerged, initially in a somewhat ad hoc manner, but it has evolved into a going concern in the development of effective websites for commercial ventures and firms.
